LETTERING AND LETTER POINTS

 

Students have many options in the year to earn "Letter Points" in effort to earn their 150 points in order to letter.  Lettering in the Cedarcrest Music Dept. is comprised of three areas of effort.  Student must accomplish the minimum amount of points possible to be eligible to earn the Academic Letter in Bands and Choirs.

     1.  (MP)  Mandatory Performances and Required Events--220 Points

     2.  (SE)  Student Evaluation--100 Points

     3.  (ILP)  Individual Lettering Points--150 Points

 

 

The following events are  "Individual Lettering Points": 

JULY, 07:

Jul. 4--Carnation 4th of July Parade:  20Points

 

AUGUST, 07:

Aug. 20-24--Marching Band & Color Guard Camp:  50Points

 

 

SEPTEMBER, 07:

Marching Rehearsal #1:  10 Points

Marching Rehearsal #2:  10 Points

Marching Rehearsal #3:  10 Points

 

 

OCTOBER, 07:

Saturday Jazz Rehearsal: 10 Points

 

NOVEMBER, 07:

 

DECEMBER, 07:

Dec. 1--Jazz Band/Choir & Chamber Sat. Rehearsal--@ 11AM:  10 Points

Dec. 1--Carnation Tree Lighting--@ 5pm-6pm:  10 Points

 

JANUARY, 08:

Jan. 12--Solo & Ensemble/Instrumental--@ 8am4pm:  15 Points

 

Jan. 19--Solo & Ensemble/Instrumental--@ 8am4pm:  15 Points

 

FEBRUARY, 08:

Jan. 14-16--All State Band / Choir, Yakima, WA:  20 Points

 

 

MARCH, 08:

Mar. 25 & 26--EWU Honor Band Festival @ EWU,  Cheney, WA:  20 Points

May  12 & 23--Officer Application (Nominated, 2 letters of intent, presentation):  20 Points
