RHYTHM is a K-12 Music Boosters group that is tax exempt--501(c)3 organization which was originally affiliated and started through REF (Riverview Educational Foundation). REF has always been driving force in fund raising and support for the Riverview School District and is noted as an exemplary resource in creating educational opportunities in and outside of the Classrooms of Riverview. We thank REF for their outstanding support in the arts through annual grants, services and encouragement.

RHYTHM is the primary a fund-raising and support organization for the music programs in the Riverview School District. RHYTHM teams with local resources to assist and supplement financial aid for music education throughout our district. All funds gained through RHYTHM ‘General Fund Raisers’ help to pay for festivals, activities, instruments, and guest artists beyond the curricular budget.

MISSION STATEMENT

The RHYTHM Boosters Organization is committed to provide an environment whereby youth in the Riverview School District have an opportunity to experience music and benefit from the production, performance and educational opportunities provided by this experience. RHYTHM is a group of parents, students and professionals who come together for the good of the Music Department and the Duvall and Carnation Communities.

GOALS

  • Maximize the musical opportunities for all students in the Riverview School District
  • Integrate music appreciation in the Riverview School District and our music communities
  • Bring professional musicians to perform for the students
  • Raise funds to establish scholarships programs to support graduating seniors who are continuing as music majors
  • Create a partnership between parents, professionals and students to enhance participation in music

FUND RAISING

RHYTHM helps improve the quality of musical education by seeking the necessary funds to support our music programs.

Parents and students organize and run fund-raisers.  Fund-Raisers are organized to assist student participation in workshops, competitions, music camps and to defray the cost of uniforms and necessary equipment (pianos, risers, large instruments, choir robes, equipment trailer, music stands).

Some annual fundraisers include, but are not limited to: cookie dough sales, PTSA concessions, Battle of the Bands, Spring Auction

SCHOLARSHIP RESOURCES

Students and parents are encouraged to write a letter to the RHYTHM Finance Committee when there is a need for financial assistance for music related events/needs.

This sample letter (below) can act as a guideline when requesting a scholarship from RHYTHM.  (One per calendar year, please.)
